OPENLAP: a one-page site for an electric indoor karting track

A page on a black background: a light travels along the track layout and lights it up as it passes. Project delivered via Codeur.com, 5-star review.

The need

A high-end electric indoor karting track is opening in the Paris region. Ahead of the launch, the owners want a single page, with a simple, polished animation that evokes the track, mainly for their partners and suppliers.

What I built

A page on a black background. A light travels along the real track layout, traced from the client's plan, and lights it up as it passes. Around it: the logo, the announcement of the 2027 opening, a contact button and a “Le projet” (“The project”) button.

On a phone, the track layout turns a quarter turn to fit the screen.

A private, password-protected page: the client edits the texts there and changes the password on their own.

A real project, done through Codeur.com, a French freelance platform, for OPENLAP. Client review, 5 stars: “Reliable, Fast, efficient. Highly recommended” (translated from French).

What to look at on the site

  1. Let the light do a full lap of the track: 24 seconds.
  2. Open “Le projet”: the text shown was written by the client.
  3. Open the page on a phone: the track layout turns to fit the screen.
Under the hood

What I checked

  • Online since October 6, 2026 at openlap.fr, hosted on the client's account, in the client's name.
  • Text edited on the private page is saved and shows on the page within a few seconds, without republishing the site.
  • The client has already changed the “Le projet” text on their own.
  • No cookies.

21 automated tests of the server side: login, saving, lockout. Animation measured at 61 frames per second in WebKit, the engine behind Safari, then checked on a real iPhone. Accessibility score of 100 in Lighthouse.
