Restaurant website: menu, events and reservations

5-page website for a bistro: the menu, events, today's opening hours highlighted automatically, and a booking request.

The need

A demo for restaurants, bars and inns: what a customer looks for on their phone before coming, the menu, the opening hours, the events, and a way to book.

What I built

Five pages: home, menu, events, reservations, legal notice.

The home page highlights the set menu of the day, today's opening hours, three dishes and the upcoming events. The menu can be browsed by section, with its two set menus.

Each event has its own “Réserver pour cette soirée” (book for this evening) button, which opens the form already filled in.

Demo: the restaurant, the menu, the prices, the events and the reviews are made up, and drawings stand in for photos.

Try it in the demo

  1. Look at the “Aujourd'hui” (today) block on the home page, then at the opening hours table: today's row is highlighted automatically.
  2. From an event, click “Réserver pour cette soirée”: the request arrives already filled in.
  3. In the form, pick a past date: it is refused.
Under the hood

What I checked

  • Today's opening hours are calculated from today's date.
  • The form refuses a past date.
  • An event's button fills in the reservation request.

Simulated in the demo

  • The form sends nothing.

Lighthouse between 99 and 100. Checked in Chrome and in WebKit, the engine behind Safari, on desktop and mobile.
