Htaccess Lint for JetBrains IDEs — Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-10-30
Htaccess Lint collects no data. It has no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting, assigns you no identifier and makes no network request. The rest of this page is the proof.
What the plugin accesses
| Access | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Read | The text of files named .htaccess or ending in .htaccess that the IDE analyses: files you open, and files covered by Code | Inspect Code when you run it | Report problems |
| Write | The file you are editing, only when you apply a "Did you mean" quick fix (replaces exactly the misspelled word) | Quick fix |
| Store | Your project settings (loaded modules, AllowOverride classes) in .idea/htaccessLint.xml, written by the IDE when you change them | Settings |
| Memory | The result of the last license check, kept for at most one minute, never written to disk | Limit license checks |
| Network | None | — |
The plugin never runs a shell command or any project code, and never executes the regular expressions of your .htaccess (they are only compiled to check their syntax). Your .htaccess files never leave your machine.
License check
Pro licenses and the 30-day trial are handled entirely by the JetBrains IDE and JetBrains Marketplace. The plugin only asks the IDE whether a valid license is present; it sends nothing itself and has no license key, account or server of its own. What the IDE exchanges with JetBrains to check licenses is governed by JetBrains' own privacy policy.
Purchases
Purchases are handled by JetBrains through JetBrains Marketplace, under its own terms and privacy policy. The Publisher receives from JetBrains the sales information needed for payouts and support, and uses it only for that purpose.
How to verify
The plugin is a ZIP archive containing JAR files. To list the web addresses it contains:
unzip -o htaccess-lint-jb-2026.1.0.zip -d htl && for j in htl/*/lib/*.jar; do unzip -p "$j" | grep -aoE "https?://[a-zA-Z0-9./_-]+" ; done | sort -u
You should find exactly these five lines, none of which the plugin ever requests:
https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/andhttps://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/quickreference.html: the Apache HTTP Server 2.4 documentation, text from the bundled directive catalogue and the link of the plugin description;https://timaub.fr/htaccess-lint/: the Publisher's website declared inplugin.xml(shown on the plugin page);http://www.w3.org/2000/svg: the XML namespace of the plugin icons (an identifier, not an address that is loaded);https://...: a placeholder inside a warning message ("neither an absolute URL (https://...) nor a path"). You can also watch the IDE's traffic with any network monitor: the plugin adds none.
